Woman Bites iPhone Snatcher in Park View

700 block of Kenyon Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A woman bit a thief who stole her iPhone in Park View over the weekend, according to authorities.

The robbery happened on the 700 block of Kenyon Street NW about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The woman was walking about a block north of the Bruce Monroe Community Park when a man came up to her, police said.

“Do you know where ‘easterns’ is?” the man asked, according to authorities. It wasn’t exactly clear what he wanted, however.

The woman then became scared and walked away. But the man didn’t leave her alone, and she said she would call police.

He put his hand over her mouth soon after and snatched her cellphone from her hand. She eventually bit his hand.

The man then fled with the iPhone.

Police tweeted out an alert with a description of the suspect:

A man with a gun also robbed a woman who gave him a ride in a car with two other people near the U Street corridor Friday night, police said.

The armed robbery happened near V Street and Florida Avenue NW about 9 p.m.

The woman stopped at an ATM in the area, where the man pulled out a gun and took her purse, according to authorities. The man then ran off.

Police tweeted out an alert with a description of the suspect:

A man also was injured following the sound of gunfire in Adams Morgan this past weekend, too, police said.

A shot was fired around the 1800 block of Biltmore Street NW about 3 a.m. Saturday.

The man received his injuries after the bullet flew near 18th Street and Columbia Road NW, according to authorities. But it wasn’t clear if the gunshot caused his injuries.

He was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Police haven’t released any suspect information.
