“Divine Intervention” Storytelling Show

Storytellers will share tales of times something or someone saved the day or turned the tide for the better.
D.C. Bike Party Glow Ride
Cyclists are set to ride bikes tricked out in funky lights during this month’s outing. Riders depart the circle at 8 p.m. sharp and will pedal to Old Glory in Georgetown.
The Facebook Monologues
Drafthouse Comedy (1100 13th St. NW)
This show revolves around some of the funny and ridiculous arguments that tend to spring up on Facebook. “Epic fights, random comments, and regrettable statuses from your past,” organizers said. “If it’s embarrassing, and/or unintentionally hilarious, we’re taking it to the stage.”
Gingerbread House Building Contest
Ventnor Sports Cafe (2411 18th St. NW)
Patrons who sign up for the competition will have everything they need to build a gingerbread house, including candies, sprinkles, cookies and frosting, the bar said. The person or group who builds the best house wins a prize.
An Evening of Humorous Readings
DC9 (1940 9th St. NW)
Local humorists will read their best work live on stage during this monthly event. This month’s show is hosted by Jon Wolper and will include readings by Eric Hague, Megan Downey, Graham Starr and Eena Ruffini.
Eighties Mayhem: Holiday Extravaganza Dance Party
Black Cat (1811 14th St. NW)
This will be the venue’s 7th annual 1980s-themed dance party. Expect a “holiday dance extravaganza” from DJs Steve EP, Killa K, Missguided and Krasty McNasty.
Holiday Photo Booth
Metro Mutts (508 H St. NE)
Attendees are instructed to bring their pets and cameras to this free holiday photo booth event.
Leonard Cohen Listening Party
Songbyrd Music House & Record Cafe (2477-2475 18th St. NW)
Staffers will play selections from Leonard Cohen’s final album, “You Want It Darker.” Cohen died last month at the age of 82.
