Man Wanted in Columbia Heights Store Holdup Caught on Video

A man sought in a robbery with a gun at a Columbia Heights corner store over the weekend has appeared in surveillance footage, according to authorities.

The holdup occurred in Sonya’s Market at 2833 11th St. NW about 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

Video police distributed yesterday shows a man with a shopping bag entering the store and pointing a handgun at another man. The man with the gun then went up to the front counter and appeared to get something in his bag before he left.

A worker reported having more than $600 stolen in the robbery, according to authorities.
