An Elvis Presley birthday celebration with burlesque performers and unusual boxing contenders is set to return to Columbia Heights next week.

Elvis’ Birthday Fight Club is scheduled to bring “elaborately staged bouts, Elvis-themed burlesque, and below-the-belt commentary from co-hosts ‘Elvis’ and ‘Kittie Glitter'” to the GALA Hispanic Theatre (3333 14th St. NW) Dec. 31, Jan. 6 and 7, according to Astro Pop Events, which is putting on the annual tribute. All shows are slated to start at 8 p.m.

“Flim-flam fisticuffs make for a sexy and surreal celebration of The King’s birthday,” Astro Pop Events says on its website.

Astro Pop Events won’t reveal the identities of the boxers in Elvis’ Birthday Fight Club until the shows start. But past matches have included “Bridezilla vs. Godzilla,” “Congress vs. a Clown” and “Putin vs. a Unicorn.”

Tickets are $50 to $60 for the New Year’s Eve show and $25 to $30 on the other days.
