15th Annual Sahara Dance
Sahara Dance, Washington DC’s Center for Middle Eastern Dance, presents its 15th annual “Under a Desert Moon” gala at American University’s Greenberg Theatre on Saturday, April 29 with two shows at 5pm and 8pm. The theme of this year’s show is “Reflections”.
This exhilarating production will light up a corner of Washington, DC, with swirling veils, tinkling finger cymbals, fluttering fans and sparkly costumes. Featuring more than 100 belly dancers, the show will include a special performance by the Internationally known Egyptian musician and composer, Karim Nagi of Turbo Tabla, as well as performances by Sahara Dance faculty, members of the professional ensemble Raqs Sahara, and Raqs Caravan and Raquettes student companies. “Under a Desert Moon” is one of the largest Middle Eastern dance theater productions in the U.S.
