Oxfam America’s Hunger Banquet

Wonder Bread Factory

641 S St NW

Washington, D.C. 20001

The week before Thanksgiving, while many will be preparing for abundant feasts with families and friends, Oxfam America invites you to join us for a different type of dinner: one that allows guests to experience hunger in a whole new way. The Oxfam America Hunger Banquet is nothing like your typical banquet dinner; it is an experiential event where your meal is determined by the luck of the draw.
Oxfam America is a global organization working to right the wrongs of poverty, hunger, and injustice around the world. For more than 40 years, Oxfam America Hunger Banquets have been changing the way people think about global hunger, one plate at a time. But just like the unfair global food system, the Hunger Banquet isn’t particularly fair. Instead participants get a glimpse into issues of global hunger and inequality. Past attendees have called this event “unforgettable,” “eye-opening,” even “life-changing.” Around the country, these events have inspired hundreds of thousands of people.
The Hunger Banquet will take place at the Wonder Bread Factory on November 18 at 6 PM, where we’ll be joined by WAMU’s Pat Brogan and WUSA’s Delia Goncalves, as well as by experts from Oxfam America. We expect the event to fill up so please RSVP!
As we prepare to celebrate the abundance of food this holiday season, join us, and spend an evening in someone else’s shoes. You may never see things the same way.
