800 block of 1st Street NE (Photo via Google Maps)Two would-be thieves pummeled a man and tried to rob him after he refused to take a “survey” from them Friday, police said.

The attempted robbery occurred on the 800 block of 1st Street NE about 6:45 p.m.

The victim was walking about a block north of Union Station when two people came up to him, according to authorities. They then asked him if he would complete a survey.

The man declined and started to walk away. But the two people punched him in the head.

1700 block of N Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)Three thieves with guns jumped out of a sport utility vehicle in Dupont Circle and used their weapons to hit a man before they robbed him and three other men with him over the weekend, police said.

The armed robbery happened on the 1700 block of N Street NW about 4 a.m. Sunday.

The victims were just north of the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle when a newer model Ford Explorer or Jeep with tinted windows pulled up to them, according to authorities. Three men then got out of the vehicle, and all of them flashed handguns as they ordered the victims to get on the ground and give up their belongings.

Queen Annes Lane and Hughes Mews (Photo via Google Maps)A thief used a gun to beat a man during a robbery in Foggy Bottom last night, police said.

The armed robbery happened on the 900 block of Hughes Mews NW about 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was going into a home about three blocks west of the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro station when a man came up to him and flashed a handgun, according to authorities.

The man with the gun forced the victim inside the house soon after and robbed him. The gun-wielding man then used his weapon to repeatedly hit the victim in his head before leaving.

The victim received injuries in the attack. But it wasn’t immediately clear if he went to a hospital.

1700 block of Euclid Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A group of thieves beat up and robbed a man in Adams Morgan early this morning, sending him to the hospital, police said.

The violent robbery happened on the 1700 block of Euclid Street NW about 1 a.m. today.

The victim was walking to a bus stop about a block west of Meridian Hill Park when three men came up to him, according to authorities. The men then hit the victim in his face, knocking him down.

Once the man was on the ground, the beating continued until the men grabbed the victim’s money and some of his other belongings and fled.

1400 block of Irving Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A thief wearing a “poop emoji” mask took part in a violent group robbery in Columbia Heights last night, police said.

The crime happened on the 1400 block of Irving Street NW about 11 p.m. Monday.

The victim was walking near the DC USA retail development when he passed about 10 people, including the person with the mask, according to authorities. One of the individuals then punched the victim in his face, and the rest of them knocked him to the ground.

1600 block of 7th Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A cyclist dodged gunfire, but took a bullet to his bicycle, in a bout of road rage in Shaw over the weekend, police said.

The shooting happened on the 1600 block of 7th Street NW about 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

The cyclist and a passenger in a car were arguing over the use of a lane near Dacha Beer Garden when the person in the vehicle pulled out a handgun, according to authorities. The individual with the gun then fired it at the cyclist, hitting the man’s rear bicycle tire.

Police car lightA man sought in a gas station hold-up in Shaw and another man wanted in a violent break-in in Mount Pleasant this month have appeared in surveillance footage, police said.

The armed robbery happened in the Valero at 420 Rhode Island Ave. NW Tuesday morning. The burglary occurred in a house on the 1600 block of Irving Street NW the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Video police distributed today in connection with the robbery shows a man in a green hooded sweatshirt pulling a gun on a gas station attendant and eventually leaving the scene with cash in his pocket.

Valero at 420 Rhode Island Ave. NW (Photo via Google Maps)A thief held up a gas station in Shaw yesterday morning, police said.

The armed robbery happened at the Valero at 420 Rhode Island Ave. NW about 11 a.m. Tuesday.

An attendant at the gas station was working in the cashier booth when a man asked him for the price of a soda, according to authorities. The man then flashed a handgun and went into the booth.

Once inside, he dropped his gun, and the victim tried to flee. But the man got his weapon back and ordered the victim to open the cash register and the safe and get on the ground.

The victim soon after opened the cash register, but said he couldn’t get into the safe. The man with the gun eventually grabbed $350 in cash and ran away.

Police tweeted out a suspect description after the crime:

A representative of the gas station couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

500 block of U Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)Would-be thieves with a gun ordered a man to give up his bag in LeDroit Park last night, but decided not to take anything, police said.

The attempted armed robbery happened on the 500 block of U Street NW about 7:15 p.m. Monday.

The victim was about to go in his home just south of Howard University Hospital when two men came up to him from behind, according to authorities.

“Give me the bag,” one of the men said, while flashing a handgun, according to police.

300 block of Florida Avenue NW (Photo via Google Maps)(Updated at 2:35 p.m.) A masked thief robbed a photographer at gunpoint as he set up his equipment in Truxton Circle last night, police said.

The robbery occurred on the 300 block of Florida Avenue NW about 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was getting ready to photograph two people when a man with a black ski mask walked up to him, according to authorities. The man then flashed a handgun and ran off with more than $2,000 in photography gear, including the victim’s camera.

Police described the suspect as a:

B/M [black male], slim build and wearing black hooded jacket, black mask, blue jeans

Entrance to alley on the 1200 block of 18th Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)Three thieves with a “pointed object” robbed a man who was urinating in a Dupont Circle alley this past weekend, police said.

The robbery occurred on the 1200 block of 18th Street NW about 3 a.m. Sunday.

The victim was relieving himself behind a building about three blocks south of the Dupont Circle NW traffic circle after visiting a nightclub, according to authorities. Two men and another person then came up to him and put a unknown pointed object to his back.

The armed robbery happened on the 1300 block of Clifton Street NW about 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was walking just west of the high school when three people came up to him, according to authorities. One of the individuals then struck the man and someone in the group flashed a handgun.

1100 block of I Street NE (Photo via Google Maps)A thief with a knife stabbed and robbed a man near the H Street corridor last night, police said.

The violent robbery happened on the 1100 block of I Street NE about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was between Florida Avenue and H Street NE when a man came up to him and asked for the time, according to authorities.

Fearing the man was a robber, the victim started to run off. But he didn’t get far.

The victim couldn’t get away from the man, who stabbed him with a knife once in the back. The man with the knife then took the victim’s iPhone, wallet and keys.

The victim was brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police released the following tweet with a suspect description after the crime:

Unit block of W Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)Two thieves with a gun robbed a man in Bloomingdale yesterday afternoon, police said.

The armed robbery happened on the unit block of W Street NW about 1 p.m. Monday.

The victim was walking home just west of Prospect Hill Cemetery when two young men came up to him, according to authorities.

One of the young men told the victim not to look at him and then took out a handgun from his hooded sweatshirt.

“Hurry up, you takin’ too long,” the young man said, while putting the gun to the victim’s head, according to authorities.

The two young men took the victim’s iPhone, iPad, headphones, backpack and some of his other belongings soon after. They then hopped in a car with another person and drove away.

Police said they have arrested three boys in connection with the crime.

Unit block of Adams Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A pair of thieves robbed two people at gunpoint in Bloomingdale last night, police said.

The armed robbery occurred on the unit block of Adams Street NW about 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

The victims were walking home just west of the Prospect Hill Cemetery when two men came up to them, according to authorities.

The men told the victims to take off their backpacks and get on the ground. One of the men then flashed a handgun.

The victims handed over their backpacks, along with their cellphones, laptop and some of their other belongings.

The robbers fled soon after.

Police haven’t released detailed descriptions of the suspects.
