La Bonne Bistro will end its pop-up dinner service at Creme (2436 14th St. NW) later this week, Creme owner Tegist Ayalew told Borderstan today.
Though La Bonne closed its U Street NW location in May, Owner Daniel Labonne reopened the restaurant in pop-up form at Creme in June. That six-month partnership is coming to an end on Dec. 19, Ayalew said. Creme will remain open for business as usual, she added.
A PoPville reader spotted a Groupon cancellation notice for La Bonne Bistro earlier today.
We were unable to reach Labonne to comment on what the eatery’s next step might be.
Popular U Street eatery Bistro La Bonne has quietly returned with a new location and a new name.
Though the restaurant reportedly closed its U Street NW location in May, Owner Daniel Labonne says he reopened the restaurant at 2436 14th Street NW under the name La Bonne Bistro in June.
Sudhouse now occupies the bistro’s old space on U Street.
Despite the new location and name, Labonne says the menu, its staff and atmosphere are similar to how they were before.
La Bonne Bistro shares its new space with another former U Street restaurant, Creme.
