D.C. Police are seeking a gun-wielding man filmed chasing a car in Columbia Heights late last Tuesday.

According to the police report, the victim was attempting to park his car in an alley near the 1300 block of Columbia Road NW around 11:29 p.m. when he spotted a man with a black gun.

When the victim tried to drive away, the suspect chased after him, say police.

In what may have been an attempt to confront his pursuer, the victim then parked near two dumpsters in the alley and stepped out of the car, say police. Upon seeing the victim standing next to his car, the suspect turned around and fled westbound through the alley.

Police did not say whether the victim had a weapon of his own or what may have caused the assailant to flee.

A video released this morning by police appears to show a portion of the incident.

In the video, a man in a white T-shirt can be seen mulling around a parking lot with a small group of people. The video then cuts to the what appears to be the same man chasing after a black car.

The video cuts again to the man in the white T-shirt climbing onto a motorcycle or dirt bike near two dumpsters and driving away. Shortly thereafter, the man returns to the spot near the dumpsters, climbs off the bike and leaves the scene.

The video cuts a third time to a wider shot of the same portion of the alley. The man in the white T-shirt is seen approaching, then fleeing, a car parked just outside of the camera’s view.

Police say they have not yet made any arrests related to the incident.
