

The shelves are stocked, the pharmacy is full of pills and the coolers are packed with AriZona tea. CVS is coming to the Mount Vernon Triangle.
The retailer will open its newest D.C. store near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center at 655 K Street NW on Sunday, according to a sign posted to the building’s front door. Workers could be seen putting the final touches on the new store earlier today.
The new store will span 10,000 square feet, as reported on the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District blog in March.

Chocolate City No More?

The Logan Whole Foods is not the only business in the 1400 block of P Street undergoing some changes. The CVS Drugstore at 1418 P Street NW has made some improvements as well.
Among the changes:
- Four new self-service checkout stations.
- An expanded beverage and grocery aisle including frozen foods. Yes, you can now buy Lean Cuisine and Tombstone Pizza at CVS.
- They have also added some “urban” shopping carts to the store.
- Along the Red Line has a nice write-up on Halloween events for today through Friday.
- Prince of Petworth notes that the new CVS is getting ready to open at 14th and V Streets NW.
- DCMetrocentric says the Metropole building at 15th and P Streets NW is meeting its original specifications.
