DC Police reported a gun robbery at 12:26 pm today, March 24, at Leroy Place and Phelps Place NW. The intersection is one block west of Connecticut Avenue and two blocks north of S Street NW. The lookout is for two men in their early 30s wearing all dark clothing; more details are below.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is asking for assistance in locating a suspect in an armed robbery Thursday morning (Lunchtime Gun Robbery of Business at 11th and U NW). The suspect entered the Eleven Market at 1936 11th Street NW at about 10:45 am and showed a revolver to the cashier. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Surveillance footage, which police have posted to YouTube, shows the suspect entering the store and grabbing money from the cash register. The suspect is described as a white male, 20- to 30-years-old with short brown hair. During the robbery, he was wearing a green hooded jacket and jeans.
Anyone with information in the incident is asked to contact MPD at 202-727-9099. A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

DC Police reported a gun robbery at 12:51 pm today (Thursday, March 7) at 1936 11th Street NW, just south of U Street. The lookout is for a 30-year-old white male armed with a handgun; more details are below. According to the Tweet from DC Police, a business was robbed. Google Maps places the location as a small market south of Vinoteca, the Eleven Market.
It was the third second gun robbery in the area since February 23 — see Monday Night Gun Robbery, 1900 Block 12th Street NW and Saturday Morning Gun Robbery, 12th and U NW.

DC Police reported a gun robbery around 11:40 pm on Monday, February 25, on the 1900 block of 12th Street NW, just south of U Street. The lookout is for one man, around 5’9″, wearing a gray hoody and dark pants.
It was the second gun robbery in the area in less than three days; there was also a gun robbery at 12th and U Streets NW around 4 am on Saturday, February 23.

There was a gun robbery at 6:30 pm Tuesday evening, December 4, on the 1900 block of 11th Street NW — the first block south of U Street. According to the DC Police Alert, the lookout is for three men and/or juveniles.
The incident follows three other recent violent crimes on the U Street corridor: Update: 3 Men Hit in 12:30 AM Shooting, 1200 Block of U Street NW, Early Sunday Robbery with Force and Violence, 1019 U Street NW and Update: Armed Carjacking on U Street NW Early Saturday Morning.

There were two gun robberies in the area early Sunday morning, May 29. Based on the Police Alerts, it appears they may have been committed by the same suspects.
The first one was at 1:39 am at 17th and V Streets NW, which is next to the Third District headquarters of the DC police:

The second robbery was 32 minutes later at 15th and T Streets NW:
“Robbery (Gun) 0211 hrs 15th & T St NW LOF: (2) B/M in ski mask, Suspect 1: light complexion, black jeans, black sneakers DO NOT TAKE ACTION CALL 911 W/EVENT #I20110268820”
Got this Police Alert last night. There was a robbery-with-gun at 8:51 p.m. at 14th and W Streets NW… a strip with an awfully lot of new condos and restaurants.
It is the number of guns being used in robberies lately that alarms me. Sure, any robbery can result in someone being badly hurt (or killed), but guns add another level of danger. Then there is the time this robbery occurred. This was not the middle of the night. In our area, 8:51 p.m. is prime time for people coming and going to restaurants, grocery stores, the gym, etc.
Would visible foot patrols on 14th and U Streets help… especially in the evening hours? I don’t know, but I have to ask. If you live in that area, what do you think?
