Dupont Circle is ready for summer. The fountain is finally on, the grass is green and live events are scheduled throughout the season!

So pack your blankets, gather your friends and head to the Circle on Sunday, June 3 for a free outdoor jazz concert.

The afternoon concert, which starts at 2 pm, is part of DC Jazz Festival‘s “Jazz in the Hood” series. The Airmen of Note, the United States Air Force’s world-renowned band, will be providing the tunes for the general public and neighborhood residents.

For more information, visit the Dupont Festival website. We hope to see you there!

Send Us Your Tips, Please!

We’re always looking for tips here at Borderstan.com: news, crime, interesting people, a tip on a new business or a restaurant… artists… you name it. You can email us at [email protected] — and yes, you can attach JPG photo files! If it happens in the Dupont-Logan-U Street area, we want to know about it. Today’s SYMHM photo was submitted by reader Melissa Green (we should have checked that email account Monday morning, as we usually do). Green told us, “The firemen had it out pretty quickly once they got there — we’re talking within a minute or so. I just happened to wake up and see it out my window (from where I took the picture). I was actually about to call 911 when I heard the sirens.”

Got Milk? It Better be Pasteurized!

The feds have just completed a year-long investigation capped off with a sting operation to shut down…Amish farmers.  Raw milk is apparently a really big deal. The Washington Times has the full story on the potential health risks (E. coli) and the (apparent to the conservative paper) discrepancy in this enforcement action compared to other federal issues like immigration.
