On Friday, November 9, AT&T will show its appreciation to those who have served our country through a series of devoted videos.
From 10 am until 2 pm, the public is invited to stop by the Farragut North store location (1050 Connecticut Avenue NW) to record video messages for veterans, thanking them for their hard work and sacrifices. The messages will then be uploaded to an AT&T YouTube site) and sent to veterans, just in time for Veterans Day (Monday, November 12).
If you can’t make it downtown, you can still record and include your video in the mix by sending your video to loveavet[AT]att.com.
AT&T will also be collecting used cellphones for Cell Phones for Soldiers, a nonprofit dedicated to providing deployed and returning troops with cost-free methods to communicate while serving in the military.

The DC Department of Public Works is observing Veterans Day on Friday, November 11. As a result, there will be no trash and recycling collections. Parking regulations will not be enforced either.
These collections will “slide” to the next day. Friday’s collections will be made Saturday. This applies to both once-a-week and twice-a-week collection neighborhoods. Trash and recycling containers should be put out for collection no earlier than 6:30 pm the night before collection and removed from public space by 8 pm on the collection day.
As for parking enforcement, there is no enforcement of parking meters, residential parking, and rush hour lane violations. DPW also will not tow abandoned vehicles. Parking enforcement will resume Saturday, November 12.
