District Taco closed its Dupont store earlier this month to install some new kitchen and HVAC equipment, according to company founder and CEO Osiris Hoil. The restaurant also got some minor touch-ups, but “nothing major,” Hoil said.
The restaurant serves a menu of tacos and burritos stuffed with ingredients like eggs, chorizo, beans and a variety of salsas.

District Taco’s location near Dupont Circle is getting a slight facelift.
The Mexican eatery at 1919 M St. NW closed on Saturday for some “quick renovations,” according to a tweet from the taco chain.
“We are just replacing our HVAC units with new units, exchanging some kitchen equipment and painting all around the restaurant,” said company founder and CEO Osiris Hoil. “Nothing major, the look of the restaurant will stay the same.”
The M Street location is slated to reopen with a new look on Oct. 18, the company said.
In the meantime, hungry locals looking for some District Taco on National Taco Day will have to make the trek to the eatery’s location near Metro Center at 1309 F St. NW.
