Tropicalia and DJ Kostas are ready to kick off 2013 by launching their monthly global gay and gay friendly monthly night, “Universal.” Be ready to dance at Tropicalia this Thursday, January 3, from 10 pm to 2 am.
Doors open at 7 pm and the Invitational Open Bar is from 8:30 to 9:30 pm — request an invitation via Tropicalia DC on Facebook. Tropical says they are going all out for the event, with treats, surprises, a flashing rainbow bar and decorations. And, “yes,” says Tropicalia, men may remove their shirts while dancing.
Tropicalia, at the northeast corner of 14th and U Street NW, has one of the best sound systems in the city — perfect for Kostas who is remembered from the days of the Lizard Lounge Sunday parties — and a great place to dance. (See Tropicalia: A Psychedelic Buena Vista Social Club at 14th and U.)
