JR’s has been located at the northeast corner of 17th and Church Streets since it opened in August 1986. The building formerly housed Annie’s Paramount Steak House before it moved north up 17th Street to its current location between Q and Corcoran Streets NW.

From the U.S. National Library of Medicine: “The impressive memorial that stands to the east of the Scott Circle, near the cross section of Massachusetts and Rhode Island Avenues, honors Samuel C. F. Hahnemann (1755-1843), a German physician and the founder of homeopathic school of medicine. Authorized by Congress in January 1900 and unveiled the following June, the monument was the gift of the American Institute of Homeopathy”

A landmark in the city, Diego’s Hair Salon is located at 1901 Q Street NW, where Diego D’Ambrosio has held his shop for more than 40 years. From Wikipedia: “On April 23, 2010, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty joined other local government officials in designating the 1900 block of Q Street NW as Diego D’Ambrosio Way (an alternative street name). The Diego D’Ambrosio Way Designation Act of 2010 officially recognizes Diego’s contributions to District of Columbia residents and the city’s business community.”
