Wedding planning website WeddingWire will host a “mass vow renewal” atop the Embassy Row Hotel (2015 Massachusetts Ave NW) on the morning of the Pride Parade.

At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, couples will gather on the hotel’s roof for complimentary snacks and beverages. Forty-five minutes later,  the mass ceremony, led by Pop! Wed’s officiant, Steven Gaudaen, will begin.

Kathryn Hamm, publisher of — a site that was officially acquired by WeddingWire just yesterday — was the one who conceived the idea for Saturday’s event.

“We welcome LGBTQ and heterosexual couples,” Hamm says. “Anyone who is looking for the opportunity to celebrate in Pride style.”

Hamm expects as many as 50 or more couples could show up on the day of the ceremony.

After renewing their views, couples will be able to craft their own parade-worthy “just remarried” signs with markers, poster board and wooden sticks provided by the event’s organizers.

And Hamm says not to worry about wearing a tuxedo or a wedding dress.

“This is Pride,” she says. “Come dressed colorfully and comfortably.”

Though the event is free, RSVPing ahead of time is highly encouraged.
