The 23 page indictment covers alleged robberies, assaults, and thefts by the gang members in Chinatown, Adams Morgan, NoMa, and the U Street area primarily during the month of June.

The gang members are part of the “Show Off” crew. The suspects are accused of entering an unoccupied house on 10th Street NW between S Street NW and T Street NW on June 12, and breaking a window and spray painting graffiti.

All of the suspects were initially charged for criminal offenses in June and July, but a superseding indictment with additional charges, including gang-related charges, was returned by a DC Superior Court grand jury on November 7.

The nine suspects all are DC residents and range in age between 18 and 20 year olds. Bernard Trowell, 19, also known as “McLovin” was described in the indictment as the president of the group. Quayshawn L. Leggett, 20 is accused of holding a senior position in the crew.

Trowell and five of the other members were arraigned on November 15. According to DC Superior Court records, Trowell is charged with seven counts including robbery, aggravated assault, and receiving stolen property. He is being held without bond at the DC Jail. A status hearing in the case is currently scheduled for January 11 with a jury trial on February 20.

Williams faces seventeen counts. His arraignment is scheduled for January 11 as he currently is being held on other charges in Maryland.

Eighteen-year-old Deandre M. Williams was described in the release as holding a senior position in “Show Off,” but a charge of unlawful entry against him was dismissed Monday.

The other individuals indicted in the case were Angel Collier, 18; James D. Matheny, 18; Travis L. Morris, 20; Brandon J. Steele, 18; Wayne E. Wheeler, 20, and Ricardo J. Williams, 20.
