New York-based fast casual chain The Little Beet opened its first D.C. restaurant at 1212 18th St. NW at 11 a.m. this morning.

Kitchen workers were busy grilling chicken, mixing dressing and chopping vegetables about a half hour before the eatery’s grand opening.

Customers can order from menu of salads and bowls filled with grains, simple proteins and veggies. The menu also includes an assortment of juices and baked goods.

A new gluten-free eatery is set to open in Dupont Circle next month.

The Little Beet store is scheduled to open at 1212 18th Street NW in November, said a spokesperson with The Little Beet. The Pei Wei that once occupied the space closed in July.

A sign advertising the new lunch spot was installed yesterday. Construction crews were observed earlier this morning installing equipment and preparing the space for its scheduled opening next month.

The Little Beet is a gluten-free restaurant based in New York City. A jaunt through the eatery’s menu reveals salads, bowls filled with grains and simple proteins and juice mostly priced under $10.
