There was a small fire at 1742 18th Street NW Tuesday afternoon, probably caused by a lightning strike. According to a tweet from the Washington, DC Fire Fighters Association (@IAFF36), lightning apparently hit the roof of the building around 3:45 pm during the thunderstorm. Two fire trucks rushed to the scene where they rapidly put out the fire. No one was hurt and there was no major damage to the structure.
