The 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt is at Stead Park this Saturday; photos from 2012. (Luis Gomez Photos)

This Saturday, May 30, is the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Stead Park field on the 1600 block of P Street NW.

Last year the event drew a large turnout of kids and parents, around 200.The festivities included snacks, face painting, balloons and, naturally, a good sport who wore an Easter Bunny costume.

This year the Easter Egg Hunt starts at 10:45 am. The hunt will be in waves so all the kids get a chance to go — and and organizers say there are plenty of eggs. The event is sponsored by Lindsay Reishman Real Estate.

Come early to get a balloon, have your face painted and grab a snack. (Be sure to bring your own basket!)

Are your kids too young for The Hunger Games? Here’s a fun alternative that still involves some outdoor competition with neighboring children.

Saturday’s egg hunt will include snacks, face painting, balloons and a bunny. (Image courtesy Lindsay Reishman Real Estate)

The 7th Annual Lindsay Reishman Real Estate Holiday Egg Hunt will take place Saturday, April 7 at 10:45 am at Stead Park, 1625 P Street NW. The event is open to the public and will include snacks, face painting, balloon artistry (!), pictures with the Easter Bunny (!!) and yes, Easter eggs!

Participation is free, but organizers ask that each child bring his or her own basket and make sure to RSVP. (Egg donations are also encouraged; they should be dropped off at Stead Park before 10:30 am, so the Bunny can do his work.)

Participants should arrive promptly at 10:45 am for the egg hunt. Please send RSVP to [email protected].

May the eggs be ever in your basket!
