Luis shot this photo of a humpback whale last Wednesday evening from our whale-watching boat off the northern tip of Cape Cod in the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. (Luis has more whale photos at his blog). We were on a whale-watching cruise out of Provincetown, during our trip to Massachusetts last week.
It took about an hour to cruise out to Stellwagen Bank from Provincetown Harbor. We were there for more than an hour, at around 6 p.m. We hit the jackpot; whales were everywhere… on all sides of the boat. At $36, it was an incredible bargain.
