Salim Elalami, owner of Salon Rouge on 17th Street NW, recently added a new business to his neighborhood ventures: a Moroccan restaurant.
La Kazbah (formerly Marrakesh), opened under Elalami about eights weeks ago and is at 2147 P Street NW, west of Dupont Circle. But don’t get too attached to the restaurant’s new name. Elalami says he is changing the name of the space (again) this week.
The 120-seat dining space serves traditional Moroccan cuisine such as couscous platters, lamb, fish, chicken, etc. Upstairs, the space has an area for private events, bringing the building’s entire capacity to 340 diners and guests.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, La Kazbah has belly dancing at 8 pm.
