Crime scene tapeA would-be thief shot a man who scuffled with him and an accomplice after the duo attempted to rob the victim in the Mount Vernon Triangle area last night, police said.

The shooting happened on the 300 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was about a block west of I-395 when he came into contact with two men, one of whom demanded to have the victim’s wallet and keys, according to authorities. A fight then broke out between the three men.

At some point, one of the would-be robbers shot the victim in his left wrist. The would-be thieves fled soon after in a black Nissan Altima with Virginia license plates.

The victim survived the encounter. But his condition wasn’t immediately clear.

Police described the suspects as:

S-1: [black male] 20-25YO, black jeans, green [camouflage] jacket, red hat. S-2: [black male] 20-25YO, Black hat, black shirt with a grey hoody underneath, blue jeans, black shoes.

1100 block of 13th Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)Someone shot a man after a car driver clipped him downtown early this morning, police said.

The shooting happened on the 1100 block of 13th Street NW about 2:30 a.m. today.

The victim was standing by his friend’s car about a block north of Franklin Square when the motorist drove by him, hitting the man with a side view mirror, according to authorities. The man then turned to confront the driver and heard multiple gunshots.

A bullet hit the victim in his right arm. The motorist drove away soon after.

The condition of the victim wasn’t immediately clear.

Police did not release a suspect description. But they described the motorist’s car in a tweet:

A man wanted in a shooting in Chinatown last month has been caught on video, according to authorities.

The assault occurred on the 600 block of H Street NW about 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.

Video police distributed today in connection with the crime shows a man with a bandana walking on a sidewalk. It wasn’t immediately clear what role he may have played in the shooting.

Crime tape (Photo via Flickr/nullvalue)(Updated at 12:20 p.m. Sunday) A girl was shot in the U Street corridor area Saturday evening, police said.

The shooting happened near 13th and W streets NW about 6:30 p.m.

The victim was walking from a Francis L. Cardozo Education Campus football game to her car on 13th Street when she heard a few “popping sounds,” according to authorities. Once in her vehicle, the girl realized she was shot in her right arm.

The victim was brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police described the suspect as a young black man who is 17 to 20 years old. He was wearing a gray jacket and black pants at the time of the shooting.

600 block of H Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A man was shot near the Friendship Archway in Chinatown early this morning, police said.

The shooting happened on the 600 block of H Street NW about 2:45 a.m.

Cops heard several gunshots before finding the victim. He was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Police haven’t released any suspect information.

3330 Sherman Ave. NWSomeone shot a man near the border of Columbia Heights and Park View last night, according to D.C. Police.

The shooting occurred on the 3300 block of Sherman Ave. NW around 10:45 p.m. yesterday.

Officers responded to a call for a shooting along that block and found a man “suffering from a gunshot wound.”

The man was taken to the hospital, where he is recovering.

Police did not provide a lookout for a suspect. Authorities tweeted about the crime shortly after it occurred:

The shooting happened on the 700 block of Fairmont Street NW about 2:45 a.m. today.

The victims received non-life-threatening injuries, with bullets hitting them on or near their hands or feet, according to authorities.

Police haven’t released any suspect information.

1600 block of 7th Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A cyclist dodged gunfire, but took a bullet to his bicycle, in a bout of road rage in Shaw over the weekend, police said.

The shooting happened on the 1600 block of 7th Street NW about 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

The cyclist and a passenger in a car were arguing over the use of a lane near Dacha Beer Garden when the person in the vehicle pulled out a handgun, according to authorities. The individual with the gun then fired it at the cyclist, hitting the man’s rear bicycle tire.

3000 block of Georgia Avenue NW (Photo via Google Maps)A man was shot in his left leg and pinky finger in Park View yesterday morning, police said.

The shooting happened on the 3000 block of Georgia Avenue NW about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim picked up someone in a car near 14th and P streets NW and drove the individual to Georgia Avenue and Irving Street NW, where an argument broke out between them, according to authorities. At some point, the passenger got out of the car and used a handgun to shoot the driver.

The victim then drove himself to a local hospital for treatment. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he worked for a taxi company or ride-sharing service.

Police haven’t released any suspect information.

A surveillance camera has caught a man wanted in a shooting that injured another man near Truxton Circle and NoMa last week, police said.

The attack occurred on the 1100 block of Sursum Corda Court NW about 4 a.m. last Thursday, Oct. 20. The area is surrounded by the Sursum Corda low-income housing cooperative between North Capitol and 1st streets NW.

The victim was shot multiple times, including at least once in his leg, according to authorities. He was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Video police distributed today in connection with the crime shows a man walking and later running on a sidewalk in a residential area.

Three days later, on Sunday, Oct. 23, another person was shot near the scene of the first shooting. It isn’t clear whether the crimes are connected.

Anyone who has information regarding these cases should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent offense committed in the District of Columbia.

Police_CruiserSomeone was shot near Truxton Circle and NoMa this evening, police said.

The shooting happened on the 1100 block of 1st Terrace NW. The area is close to the Sursum Corda low-income housing cooperative between North Capitol and 1st streets NW.

This is the second shooting to happen in that area in less than a week. Someone shot a man in the leg on the 1100 block of Sursum Corda Court NW last Thursday.

Police put out the following tweet about the crime:

1500 block of 22nd Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)A man was shot in Dupont Circle over the weekend, police said.

The shooting happened on the 1500 block of 22nd Street NW about 3 a.m. Saturday.

The victim was in his car about three blocks west of the Dupont Circle NW traffic circle near Rock Creek when he saw a group of people arguing nearby, according to authorities. He then got out, and somebody with a handgun shot him in the neck.

The shooter fled soon after.

The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the suspect has the nickname of “Ant.” But they didn’t release any other information about the individual.

Police carTwo men were injured in shootings in NoMa and in Foggy Bottom late last night and early this morning, according to D.C. Police.

The first shooting occurred on the 1100 block of McKenna Walk NW at about 11:40 p.m. last night. Another shooting happened on the 1000 block of 22nd St. NW around 3 a.m. this morning, police said.

In the NoMa shooting, police discovered a man suffering from “multiple gunshot wounds” on the 1100 block of McKenna Walk NW. The man was conscious at the scene of the crime and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Police did not provide a lookout for a suspect in that shooting.

Hours later, someone shot a man on the 1000 block of 22nd St. NW, police said. The area where the shooting occurred is blocks away from George Washington University’s campus.

The victim of the shooting was conscious when he was taken to the hospital for treatment, authorities said.

Police arrested two people in connection with that crime but have not yet released their names.

900 block of 10th Street NE (Photo via Google Maps)(Updated at 3:50 p.m.) A 39-year-old man was shot and killed near the H Street corridor this morning, police said.

The fatal shooting happened on the 900 block of 10th Street NE about 4 a.m.

Police found Eugene Clarke, of Temple Hills, Md., unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived on 10th Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities haven’t released any suspect information.

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is investigating the crime.
