Good morning, Borderstan. Today is Après-Snowpocalypse, the Post-Snowpocalypse–unless we get by more snow on Tuesday and Wednesday. Try not to think about getting to work on Monday; it won’t be pretty. Just enjoy this Superbowl Sunday… go out and have some fun like the guys in Dupont Circle yesterday in the above photo. (There was also a more casual snowball fight yesterday, at Meridian Hill Park, photos courtesy of Vincent Gallegos.)
In the meantime, please keep posting your great photos at our flickr group, Snowpocalypse 2010. There are some great shots and big thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

Saturday afternoon: The Dupont Circle Snowball Fight. It was organized on Facebook and covered by local media, including TV stations. There were two teams, North and South. (Luis Gomez Photos)
Here is YouTube video of today’s Dupont Circle Snowball Fight from John at Americablog. I am sure there are others of the event in the middle of Dupont Circle.

Welcome to the second decade of the 21st Century. Nothing like TV coverage, a wine bar and legal advice (it appears) to make for a good, old-fashioned snowball fight!
- News Channel 8 has been saying they will cover todays’ Dupont Circle snowball fight. This actually sounds like a relief from the regular around-the-clock-blizzard-coverage.
- Apparently one of the bars or restaurants at The Dupont Hotel is setting an ice bar with wine for today’s revelers. No, they are not giving away the wine, and no, drinking in public will not be allowed. This is Dupont Circle, after all.
- The organizers of today’s 2 p.m. snowball fight at Dupont Circle have put out a set of guidelines and warnings about today’s scheduled event. You cannot blame them since we live a society where people will litigate over most anything. (I would have done the same thing if I were organizing any type of open public event.) If you read the post, you have to assume lawyers were involved. This says something not-so-good things about our society–not the snowball fight organizers or lawyers. They’re just using common sense. Welcome to America.
