3100 block of Mount Pleasant Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)Police have arrested someone wanted for stealing a bicycle in Mount Pleasant when its owner was with it yesterday afternoon, police said.

The robbery happened on the 3100 block of Mount Pleasant Street NW about 3 p.m.

The victim was in the area when a person approached and yanked the victim’s bicycle away, according to authorities. The bike’s owner then located police officers, who canvassed the area for the robber.

Police eventually found someone matching the description of the thief and arrested the individual.

Authorities haven’t released the name of the suspect.

MPD has in the Property Division close to 19 bikes that have been recovered in the district.  Four were recovered yesterday in the Second District. If your bike was stolen, and you can properly identify it with either a receipt from a sale, or a picture with details along with your crime report, please contact Detective Sgt.
