(Updated at 4:05 p.m.) J. Crew is scheduled to start selling men’s clothing in an infamous Logan Circle building in the coming months.
The retailer’s Men’s Shop is slated to open at 1618 14th St. NW in November, according to signs spotted on the forthcoming store’s windows today. The 14th Street building once was known for its “men’s parties” sex club events, which came to an end after a man died there in 2009.
The new signage features a man with a suit and a tie hammering a nail near text that says, “Caution: Gentlemen at Work.”
The clothing chain announced last October it would open a shop in Logan Circle. It started to look for people to work there in March.
J. Crew also is planning to put in a Madewell women’s clothing store on 14th Street. It isn’t clear when or exactly where that store will open.
A J. Crew representative wasn’t immediately available to comment.

The 14th Street corridor is set to get a Madewell.
It wasn’t immediately clear when or exactly where the women’s clothing store from J. Crew will open. But J. Crew last week posted job openings for a new Madewell on 14th Street NW in the 20009 zip code, which includes Logan Circle.
An eagle-eyed blogger tweeted about the forthcoming shop today, saying it appeared to be taking over the former Timothy Paul space at 1529 14th St. NW.
A Madewell representative didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Madewell will have two stores in the District, with the addition of a 14th Street location. The retailer’s only D.C. shop is in Georgetown right now.
J. Crew also is slated to open a men’s store at 1618 14th St. NW in a building once known for “wrestling club” and “men’s parties” sex club events.
That shop started looking for workers in March. But it isn’t clear when the store will arrive.
