Roots of Development — a DC-based nonprofit that helps impoverished communities in Haiti acquire the financial resources and organizational skills they need to manage their own development — will host a community-inspired fashion event and gala on Monday, November 12 from 6:30 until 9 pm. The event, “The Heart of Haiti,” will benefit Roots of Development’s ongoing sustainable projects in Haiti.

“The Heart of Haiti” will take place at Studio Theatre (1501 14th Street NW). General admission tickets are $40 ($30 for young professionals) and can be purchased online.

Throughout the night, guests will be able to enjoy complimentary drinks while they check-out some of the evening’s design competition finalists, styled by local boutiques. Guests will also be able to select the competition’s winners of first-place and runner-up in the “Pep La” category (Haitian Creole for “The People”).
