A thief with a knife threatened to harm two women on the U Street corridor after they attempted to get back the items the individual and an accomplice took from a pharmacy yesterday morning, police said.
The incident happened in front of the CVS at 1000 U St. NW about 10:15 a.m. Monday.
The thieves just had left the pharmacy when the women approached them, according to authorities. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the women worked at the store. But at least one of women saw the thieves stealing soap, lotion and deodorant from the CVS and asked them to return the items.
“If you call the police on me, I’m coming back here for you,” one of the thieves told the women, while flashing a knife, according to police.
The thieves then fled into the east entrance of the U Street Metro station.
Police haven’t released any descriptions of the suspects.

An unconfirmed anonymous source who seemingly claimed to be an ex-student of Missouri University violently threatened Howard University students yesterday, according to multiple reports.
The message, which appears to have been posted on the website 4chan, threatened to harm the university’s students at 10, though it was unclear whether the threat-writer meant a.m. or p.m.
“Any n—–s left at Howard University after 10 tomorrow will be the first to go,” reads the online posting, which has so far only appeared in screenshot form on Twitter.
“We are aware of the threat made against the University and its students and are working with campus, local and federal law enforcement on this serious matter,” Howard University said in a statement regarding the threats this afternoon.
