Early morning snow hit the streets of the area. When checking for closings and delays, WTOP is a great source.
Be aware of slippery snow patches on the sidewalks and frozen steps as you commute to work or run errands. The sun is out, but with temperatures in the low 20s, it won’t be enough to melt away the patches.
The DC Government Snow Team has deployed 190 plows. They have been on their routes since last night at 10 pm.
“Major streets, bridges, elevated structures are being pre-treated with a brine/beet juice mixture to help prevent snow from sticking to the pavement. The weather forecast calls for snow to fall between 10 pm and 6 am with a possibility of up to one inch of accumulated snow”.
